14th month

We'd been given a calendar to record Willow's "firsts" for her first year. I really enjoyed writing down a lot of little special moments during the month and even still go back to look at the monthly pictures to see how much she's grown. It was a 13-month calendar so June was the first month that I would think, "That's something I would write down on Willow's calendar," without having a calendar to do it on. My goal is to make a list of things on here each month that I would've written on the calendar as a way to keep an ongoing log of her development, though many of the things are already blogged about. Here are a few highlights/firsts/"what Willow's up to" from June, Willow's 14th month:

- new words: ball, bye, dog
- drinking from a straw and learning how to use her straw sippy cup
- talking with more inflection (her "sing song" voice)
- enjoying summer fruits/veggies: corn on the cob, peaches, blueberries, watermelon
- trying to run (leading to many scraped knees)
- helping clean up toys
- going down stairs by herself (on bottom)
- getting off a chair/couch by herself
- following some directions (get your shoes, put ____ in trash, let's go upstairs to ____, put cup on the table)
- knowing routines/expectations (sitting down to put shoes on, sitting down to eat a snack with a spoon [yogurt], walking to her chair to eat, walking to the stairs to go upstairs for bath/bedtime/diaper change)
- top 2 molars popped through (still coming....)
- first bm in the bathtub
- wiping her tray off with a paper towel
- brushing dirt off her hands
- washing her belly with a washcloth in the bath
- finding her belly button
- favorite breakfasts: cereal (Cheerios) or eggs (she'll eat 2 scrambled eggs!!)
- favorite books: Counting Kisses, Fancy Nancy, touch-and-feel books (esp. Fuzzy Yellow Ducklings), Sandra Boynton books (esp. Snuggle Puppy), lift-the-flap books (esp. Spot series)

We had her 15-month appt today and here are her stats:
Weight: 26lb 9.5oz (90%ile)
Height: 32.5" (95%ile)
Head Circum: 19.5" (100%ile)
