Willow is all smiles since Gramma, Gramps, and Aunt Linnie have come into town to visit. Mama and Daddy are all smiles playing with the new camera that Aunt Linnie brought for us! I can tell that it's a higher quality picture than our other camera since it takes longer to upload =) I promise to not let that deter me from using it. We're still figuring out how to use it properly. I've taken lots of great out-of-focus pictures so far. Here are a couple better ones...
Willow helped make cookies for her teachers for Valentine's Day. This time we got a little messy as 1/2 cup of powdered sugar completely missed the bowl.
Willow helped put all of her favorite snacks (Cheerios, Kix, goldfish, and M&Ms) in a valentine bag for her friends at school.
Here's an update from January, Willow's 20th month:
- Chris has officially changed from dada to daddy.
- Willow now prefers to go downstairs backwards instead of on her bottom like she had before. She's still not crazy about the idea of walking down the stairs using the railing or a finger. She usually prefers the easy way out: being carried.
- Willow continues to develop her Type A personality. This month she's started taking books of the same size and stacking them very neatly by tapping the sides. She even turns the book spines the same way with the cover oriented correctly (she could teach my former students a thing or two about putting books back correctly!).
- When Willow would get frustrated trying to do something, she would grunt (and if you didn't respond quickly it would turn into more of a yell), then we would prompt her to say "help me." She's recently started saying "help me" without being prompted (sounds closer to "heh-me")!
- Willow continues to use the potty sporadicly - between 0-5 times a day. Her motivation seems to have picked up since M&Ms became involved. She's even asked to go on her own a few times. It makes me feel like a superstar when she cheers for me when I go potty =) We all need encouragement sometimes, right?
