you bundle up your infant and go outside in 30-degree weather to watch a tree be cut down.
She actually found it very entertaining though!
We put in a request for a tree outside of our fence to be removed by the city a LONG time ago. Its branches have been falling off for a few months now and one branch even broke our neighbor's car windshield. We haven't been able to park under it so Chris has been parking across the street. Anyways, we were thankful to see they finally came to remove it! Even our neighbors on both sides came out to watch (how ghetto are we?)!
It got a little loud (and cold!) so we watched from the upstairs windows. Even Alli cat wanted to watch (lower left in picture).
Now we have a better view of the boarded-up house across the street...awesome.
The storm that dumped 8" of snow in VA was on our heels as we drove north to PA on Friday night. We haven't missed out on Willow's first snow, though, as it's been snowing every day since we arrived!
We took Willow for her first meeting with Santa. The stunned look on her face could be for a variety of reasons...
a. she'd just woken up from a not-long-enough-nap.
b. Santa and the "Snow Queen" kept referring to HER as a HE (combined, they probably referred to "him" or "he" 20 times in our brief visit....literally! Good thing we found it comical. Note to self: put Willow in a red foofoo dress next year!)
c. the person taking the photo was shaking one of those obnoxious clappers to get "him" to look at the camera.
d. deep down Willow knows that all of her gifts are from Mom and Dad.
Willow's BFF, Cadence, is 2 months old already!! She's following in Willow's footsteps in joining the 90th %ile ranks, too!
Willow says, "Mrs. Morgan, can Cadence spend the night tonight?" (Morgan says, "No. Cadence sleeps through the night. I don't want you to wake her up." haha)
Willow says, "My mommy and I can't wait until next summer! Only 6 1/2 more months! The countdown is on!"
She pulled off an ornament within 5 seconds of being sat down in front of the tree, so I'm not sure how much time she'll be "playing" by the tree this year!
Willow is VERY excited about the idea of crawling but hasn't quite figured it out yet. She's getting very good at going in reverse, which has gotten her into some precarious positions...
This afternoon she backed herself all the way into the living room. We'd better enjoy our last few weeks (?) of limited mobility!!
