Willow: Quotable Quotes

Willow: Mommy, my tummy hurts.
Mommy: Does it feel hungry, or like you need to go to the bathroom?
Willow: It feels like it needs to eat chips.

Willow: My bottom hurts. (Do we have a hypochondriac here?!?!?)
Mommy: What does it feel like? (Not sure what else to ask!!)
Willow: It feels like a traffic jam. (?!?!)

I'm the big sister. I will help Owen. I will pick him up and put him on my shoulder to calm him down.

Can I may have __________________ please? (We're working on asking nicely and she's including ALL nice words...)

Can you sing "Saint Julie's Vomit?" (St. Judy's Comet by Paul Simon)

WWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! (The tantrum [not always limited to one] we hear daily...sigh...)

No denying they're siblings...

Owen 2 mo
Willow 2 mo

Amusement Park

We took advantage of being state residents and got season passes to a local amusement park. They have a lot of great rides for "beginners" like Willow, a couple water play areas, and fun shows to watch too! We've enjoyed going a couple times before schools let out and before the unbearable humidity comes!

Not so interested in talking to Big Bird or any of his friends.

Super-fun net paths to walk on!

Willow playing the "water drums." (You've gotta stop every once in a while to "people watch.")

We were not successful in getting her to multi-task and eat lunch while watching this show.

Thankfully Owen did this most of the time:

Gymnastics

Willow is nearing the end of her first 8-week session of gymnastics. She's been more confident each week and has become more comfortable talking to her coach, Wendy. She LOVES watching the big girls and will often be watching them on the floor while she's walking across the balance beam (!!!). Her favorite things so far are swinging on the rope and jumping down the tumble track (long trampoline in videos below). There are only 2 kids in her class so she gets lots of instruction and attention! I can't wait for us to watch the Olympic gymnastics together in a few weeks!

Talking Together

They love eachother!

Owen: Two months

Owen Micah is growing a mile a minute. The biggest change this month is that he's smiling and cooing which is so much fun. I especially love seeing him smile and coo with Willow - melts this momma's heart! She's so very sweet around him - calling him "little buddy." He's getting stronger and stronger each day. He has more head control now and will put weight on his legs, especially when being burped. He does really well during his baths, but hasn't liked being dried off the last few times. He does well in the car as well, but hasn't fallen asleep in his carseat since coming home Memorial Day weekend, which used to be a guaranteed way to get him to sleep. He's doing really well at night, giving us a 6 or 6 1/2 hour stretch at night. Due to his weight gain during his first 6 weeks, the doctor has recommended we stretch him beyond every 3 hours during the day. He's lasting between 3 1/2 to 4 hours most of the time. Thankfully he goes to sleep easier at night these days since the evenings used to be his fussiest time. The past few nights I've been able to feed him at 8pm and lay him down without him needing help to fall asleep =)  He's been a little harder to put to sleep (and stay asleep) during the day and sleeps the best when held or in the Ergo carrier. For now we'll try and find a balance between getting him to sleep in his crib/pack-n-play and getting some cuddle time in. =)

Here are his stats from his 2 month appointment (technically 10 weeks at the time of the apt):
Height: 24.5 inches (95%ile)
Weight: 14 lb 7oz (85%ile)
Head Circum: 16.375 in (95%ile)
